If you go to Russel, in Bay of Islands, make a stop to Gables.
It is the institution! Placed in an old house, this restaurant is still in that time. We loved the fresh seafood and the view on the bay's islands.

Must do! Lots of tracks to different beaches. There is one for everybody
(1/4h for the shorter, 5h for the longer).
/Tutukaka Coast
One more time amazing beaches. Very good surf and paddle place!
